Feels pretty good, so far.  Mellow, peaceful. This last year was pretty much an exercise in persistent pursuit of the dream: Found the ultimate art studio in February (seriously--southern sunshine, 14' ceilings, cement floors that won't mind a lot of water and my own sink, all in a nearly completely* refurbished art center close to home)! Spent more time than I can say finally writing my artist's statement, putting together a fresh portfolio, filling out applications, working out lease legalese and then waiting. Today I have turned 35. Now that I am deeply ensconced in them, I can say only good things about the 30's.  The mind is curious, heart content.  Friends and family are fascinating, funny and endlessly encouraging.  I certainly know that life has its heartbreaks and embarrassments (as well as all this good stuff that's currently in me), but I'm feeling grateful for where I am and what I've learned. The papermaking studio is coming together.  I have my beater, 'Lil Critter, and by Christmas, the wet press will have arrived.  I'm still negotiating for a possible papercutter, which will help with various Book Art projects.  Converting large por
